Cebu Trip - Queen City of the South in June 2009

My parents and I were invited to visit the Queen City of the South - CEBU.  I brought Tita Gay with us for her first plane ride :)

We met Mhita at the Domestic Airport in Manila en route Mactan, Cebu.  It is my second visit in Cebu.  My first visit was way back in 2006 and it was an official trip with our Russian Dancers for a show at PAGCOR Lahug and PAGCOR Mactan.

Annette and Faisal picked us up from Mactan Airport and brought us to their home to unload our bags.

Our first destination is at the Magellan's cross and Sto Nino Basilica where we heard mass.  Prior the end of the mass, it drizzled... felt the blessings from above.  We proceeded to Ayala Mall for a dinner at Sunburst.  I love their chicken.

The following day, we had a tour of the city and nearby areas... Lapu Lapu Shrine, Magellan Shrine and splurge at Vista Mar Resort in Mactan.  The beach is fascinating as well as the pools at the resort.  We bought lots of accessories for pasalubong.  We also tried the famous cebu lechon, otap and of course dried mangoes.

The third day, we went for a long drive to Carcar and a pilgrimage tour in Simala.

I am so grateful with the great hospitality of Annette and her family... as of this writing, Annette's dad has recently passed away and i know wherever he may be...he is in the arms of our good Lord.
